Good morning from mr bus driver

I was taking 985 from my house and the bus driver greeted me good morning when I boarded. This made me think of what ways I could pass on this kindness, and I wrote in a commendation note to the smrt bus company about this driver. Didn't take me 5 minutes and I felt happy knowing that the effort he put in to greet the passengers would not be wasted. I guess it's the response from our society that either discourages or encourages them. Given an Asian society, we tend to be more reserved and cautious, suspicious even when people greet us. I wish my society wasn't like that, that if people smile at you you would immediately be caught off guard and taken aback, and think: oh no what's wrong with me? Are they gna follow me or what... 

But if nobody starts greeting each other or being kind then our society will never progress to become a gracious one.
